This site was a pleasure to develop because I have a strong interest in the area of Mental Health. Mental Health is one of those issues that many people are aware of, but no-one wants to talk about and it still today carries an enormous amount of stygmatization, particularly in rural communities.
This site was done for the rural community of Deniliquin in New South Wales, Australia who recognized the need for an information site to serve not only their own community, but through the presence on the web, the world as a whole. From the inception of this site, it was understood that it would provide information to the community on various forms of mental health issues and contact points where help would be available. Personally, I never imagined that the content of the site would grow to be such a huge resource as it has become. The committee of the Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group are to be congratulated on their diligence in seeking out practically every contact point of information and including it on their web site.
The site uses the Aqualine template from Joomlashack which fitted well for the style they wanted to achieve. It was important not to use colors that were synonymous with depression and other forms of mental health situations so that users of the site wouldn't resonate with particular colors. The committee considers this balance to have been achieved.
Feedback from the site has been particularly positive both in the local area and further afield which means the committee have achieved their objective in developing a site that will have impact both locally and world wide.
